Old McCoy Repair Project

Here is my next repair  project I'm starting for fun. It's an old Greg Pautch shape McCoy surfboard that my brother in law wanted me to see if it was worth fixing and it's been on the side of the house for a better part of 5 years or so. Greg Pautch was Geoff McCoy's main shaper at the factory in Costa Mesa, Ca., back in when Geoff was rockin here in California. Geoff brought in Greg to shape all the boards here in the states so he could concentrate on boards in Hawaii, Australia, Japan. This was a stock board for Inflight in Seal Beach, board # 8426, and glassed at Greg Martz glass shop -Waterman's Guild. Check back often to see the progress of this board! Later

El Capitan

Morning El Cap surf check, wishing it was 2 ft bigger. Conditions right and nobody out! I'm in!

Fun, but super small El Cap this past week. Warm water on Tues, Wed, Thurs, lots of whales in the bay and lots of sun. Good week for fishing. Burke on a 5'10" x 21" Fish. Fishin!

Shelter Surf Shop / Long Beach

Stopped by Shelter Surf Shop yesterday in my home town of LB. What a very unique and down to earth shop they have going on 4th street. Nice grassroots and easy feel to the shop, classic old boards and some new retro shapes to be had. If your ever in LB, please check it out. Very nice. Spoke to Graham's wife about maybe filling some space with a few Burke boards. I hope we can collaborate on something! For more info go to: http://www.sheltersurf.com/.
